An Alabama sheriff who came under scrutiny after he bought a fancy beach house with the $750,000 he pocketed from funds meant to feed inmates defended his decision this week to keep the cash and buy a $740,000 beach house. Entrekin, like other Alabama sheriffs, believe a pre-World War II state law allows them to keep any “excess inmate feeding funds” for themselves. However all excess funds are supposed to be given to the county government. Instead Entrekin is using it to pay off debt, Entrekin is $400,000 in debt and he "didn't know what I was going to do and how I was going to pay it back, until I decided that I was going to make this a business." Entrekin is also being challenged for his job this year by Jonathon Horton who claimed he would make sure the excess funds go to benefit the taxpayers. Entrekin said he has heard people claim that they would give the money back but nobody ever follows through. He said he would be fine if legislators chose to change the law. "I don't want to be a restaurant owner, I don't want to do that," he said. "I want to be the sheriff. But the law says that as the sheriff, comes the responsibility of feeding inmates, and the excess I can keep for my personal use.
Kathleen Joyce made this article on Fox in order for people in the general public to know about what Entrekin has done. I personally feel that it was immorally wrong, that you should not be using funds for inmates to clear your personal debt. Kathleen also uses Logos due to the evidence that Entrekin is using the money to pay off debts as well as pathos due to the framing of the article making the reader feel upset when they read about Entrekin's immoral actions.

By Catherine Herridge | Fox News "Two senior FBI officials have now reviewed a controversial Republican staff memo alleging abuses of government surveillance programs during the 2016 presidential campaign, a source familiar with the matter told Fox News" The House Intelligence Committee voted late Monday along party lines to release the memo, Adam Schiff called it a “very sad day.” The committee is in the process of lining up the remaining FBI and DOJ interviews, which are expected in early February, as part of its investigation. In a Jan. 4 letter, Nunes wrote "the FBI and Justice Department said they wanted additional time to gather all of the Weismann records, to provide them at once." This post is made to inform the public about the FBI review of the Republican staff memo alleging abuses of government surveillance programs during the 2016 presidential campaign. The author uses ethos and logos to carry her main arguments across by supporting arguments made with first hand accounts and evidence about committee votes that were to release the memo, prompting backlash.
"On Jan. 31, a total lunar eclipse will occur with a blue moon, known as a Super Blue Blood Moon." A Blue moon has not occurred from July 2015 and a Super Blue Blood Moon has not occurred in 150 years. Full moons are common and happen around once a month, however these Blue moons happen far less frequently. This year (2018) we will experience 2 blue moons, the second being late March. "A Blue Moon combined with a Supermoon (when the Moon is at its closest point to Earth and appears to be 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than normal) the rare phenomena is called a Super Blue Blood Moon happens. Supermoons generally only occur once every 14 months and will not happen again until January 2019." NASA will be providing a live feed of the eclipse beginning at 5:30 a.m. EST and depending on your location the moon may be seen outside of your house.
This post is meant to get everyone excited for the Super Blue Blood Moon and is meant to be read by anyone. The authors use Logos primarily with the abundant amount of facts and research to show where you can properly view the moon. By Christopher Carbone | Fox News"After major companies suspended advertising campaigns on YouTube after their ads were displayed with videos depicting children in threatening situations, the tech giant YouTube investigates ‘disturbing’ autofill results that users flagged over the weekend." Author Christopher Carbone uses very emotional words in order to provide a opening into readers minds. Pedophilia is a VERY hated act and the mere mention of it can cause people to become angry. Christopher Carbone uses autofill results in YouTube such as typing “how to have” into the search box brought up “how to have s*x with your kids.” or YouTube videos calling out "'vast, disturbing, and wildly popular universe of videos' that included live-action footage of children depicted in compromising situations." to create emotions in investors and frequent YouTube watchers. This is to draw attention to the Google-owned platform failing to remove content that promotes extremism and other terroristic acts from its YouTube kids platform. The tech industry has already been forced to defend its response to the Russian infiltration of the 2016 U.S. election that utilized Twitter and Facebook to spread lies and disinformation. These newer content violations not being removed and recommended further pushes the agenda that YouTube is not cencoring its viedos as it should.
Lucia I. Suarez Sang, Fox News NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell: All players 'should' stand for national anthem NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on 10/18/2017 made a speech about how he views that "all players “should” stand for the national anthem" — but stopped short of imposing a rule on standing for the playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Goodell made this speech to address the concern about players not standing for the national anthem as well as how the players have effected the league's reputation. The speech addresses concerns that the public as well as the P.O.T.U.S has with players disrespecting the flag by not standing.
The tone of the passage is very serious as it addresses a very serious topic as well as it also includes president Trump's comment of "Too much talk, not enough action. Stand for the National Anthem." meaning that he was listening to the speech. Goodell said "“The current dispute over the national anthem is threatening to erode the unifying power of our game, and is now dividing us, and our players, from many fans across the country,” he wrote last week. “Like many of our fans, we believe that everyone should stand for the national anthem. It is an important moment in our game. We want to honor our flag and our country, and our fans expect that of us.”" O.J. Simpson, nicknamed The Juice, is a former National Football League running back, broadcaster, actor, advertising spokesman, and convicted armed robber and kidnapper. Once a popular figure with the U.S. public, he is most well known today for his trial and acquittal for the murders of his former wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. O.J. Simpson was freed from prison after 9 years this Sunday in a dead-of-night release, this was done to avoid media attention, however now that the news is out many sources are quick to act. Fox news made a news post on Sunday explaining how O.J. Simpson was allowed to leave on parole, and how no one knows where he is going. However with speculation that O.J. Simpson would be leaving for Florida, Florida Department of Corrections attorney general says we don't want him, "The specter of his residing in comfort in Florida should not be an option. "Our state should not become a country club for this convicted criminal."
With no one but O.J Simpson knowing where he will go next, Fox News waits for more speculation and ideas on where he may appear The authors of the post seem to be relying on pathos, by reminding everyone of the murders, the court trial, and the robbery. They move and stir emotions into people that in my option make them feel scared. Using words such as "The Juice is on the loose" tends to make people that the O.J will return to his prior ways and that he is loose from prison. This I feel is mainly directed at people in Florida or LA, due to them mentioning multiple times that he may be on his way there. However this channel also is for the entire U.S thus they include information for them as well. The reason this post in happening is O.J being released from prison on parole, any other news sources also made posts about this big event.
